FRAMINGHAM - As the start of the school year continues, John Gibbons has been named as the Interim Principal at Brophy Elementary School.

Gibbons is stepping in for Jessica Mandes, who recently resigned after being appointed to the post back in March. Gibbons previously had been a principal for Weston Public Schools from 2001 through his retirement earlier this year.

In a statement, Framingham Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Tremblay said he has "full confidence" in Gibbons' ability to lead the school this year.

In the meantime, the district will begin the search for a full-time principal at Brophy Elementary in January. Members of the school community will be solicited for their thoughts during that process.
