FRAMINGHAM - Framingham officials are completing the purchase of 3.2 miles of trails to stretch the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail into the city.
The trail currently runs through Lowell, Chelmsford, Westward, Carlisle, Acton, and Concord. Now, legs in Framingham and Sudbury are slated to be added for runners, walkers, and other non-motorized travelers.
The deal still needs to be approved at the federal level, according to city officials.
