BOSTON - Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has recognized September as Emergency Preparedness Month statewide.

During September, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) will join the state Department of Public Health in highlighting proper ways to prepare for both natural and man-made disasters. State officials specifically highlighted the impact of severe storms and floods during the summer as reasoning to prep, pointing out the damage they carried out on local farms.

MEMA noted the importance of ensuring that families are prepared for whatever may arise, especially children, seniors, and those with any disability.
